Welcome to Ethiopian Diaspora Association
Established in 2012 as a non-profit civil society organization, the Ethiopian Diaspora Association is an organization that connects, empowers, and mobilizes the Ethiopian diaspora all over the world with their home country being a bridge in between them. The association was born with the idea of forming a strong and vibrant network of Ethiopian diaspora members and it provides information, guidance and support for diaspora members to contribute to Ethiopia’s development. The objectives of the organization are to conserve cultural heritage; facilitate knowledge exchange as well as strengthen partnership among the Ethiopian diaspora. From its establishment, the Ethiopian Diaspora Association has committed itself to pursue the following goals
1- Empowerment: Provide resources, support, and networking opportunities to members of the Ethiopian diaspora to help them thrive personally and professionally in their respective communities.
2. Advocacy and Representation: Serve as a voice for the Ethiopian diaspora on relevant issues, advocating for their interests and representing their concerns at local, national, and international levels.
3. Partnership and Collaboration: Constructing bridges and networks among diaspora members, government agencies, non-profit groups, companies, and other actors to turn possible impact into maximum effectiveness of development programs.
4. Cultural Preservation and Promotion: Preserve and promote Ethiopian culture, heritage, and traditions among the diaspora, ensuring that future generations maintain a strong connection to their roots.
5. Economic and Social Development: Facilitate and support initiatives that contribute to the economic and social development of Ethiopia by leveraging the diaspora's knowledge, skills, and resources.
By pursuing these goals, the Ethiopian Diaspora Association aims to strengthen the bond between the Ethiopian diaspora and their home country, promoting unity, progress, and a shared sense of identity and purpose.
